Dental Students Perform Robot-Assisted Implant Surgery
Dental students at New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry performed a robot-assisted implant surgery on May 4. As one of three dental schools with a robotic system for implant surgery, the school’s educators and post-doctoral students have already performed more than 150 procedures, but this was the first time dental students completed the entire surgery by themselves. Three third-year students performed the surgery under the supervision of a dentist faculty member. Administrators at NYU College of Dentistry are working on integrating the robotic surgery system in the Doctor of Dental Surgery curriculum. Click here to read more.
