Omicron COVID-19 Surge Seems to Be Abating
A Reuters analysis of COVID-19 cases in the United States has found that cases are declining in regions that first experienced an Omicron-fueled spike. Nineteen states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico have all seen dips in new COVID-19 cases, including the Northeast, which has experienced a 40% decline in new cases from the week of January 10 to the week of January 17. Nationally, case rates are down just 7% with some areas continuing to see increases. The US is averaging more than 730,000 new cases each day. Click here to read more.
