
Surge in Demand Prompts Walgreen’s to Put Limit on OTC COVID-19 Tests
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise across the United States, in part due to the new Omicron variant, one of the nation’s largest pharmacy chains has instituted a purchase limit of four over-the-counter COVID-19 tests per customer. The drugstores have reported significant increase in demand for such tests since the onset of November. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests that Americans take a COVID-19 test before gathering with others inside, and, in some instances, proof of a negative COVID-19 test is required before traveling and attending events.
