Efforts to Vaccinate Low-Income Americans Against COVID-19 Face Hurdles


The rate of COVID-19 vaccination among Americans who are covered by Medicaid is much lower than their middle- and high-income counterparts. While COVID-19 vaccinations are free to all United States residents, insurers like Medicaid are struggling to reach the most vulnerable citizens while also trying to counter vaccine hesitancy.
