COVID-19 Cases Surge in the ‘Show-Me’ State

Missouri is the United States’ new COVID-19 hot spot as the Delta variant spreads rapidly throughout the state. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the “show-me” state has the highest rate of new infections. With the Delta variant spreading more quickly and the state’s low levels of COVID-19 vaccination—about 44% of residents have received one dose—Missouri is seeing more than 800 new cases per day.
