SARS-CoV-2 Can Survive Up to 28 Days on Surfaces
A new study from Australia shows that the novel coronavirus can remain infectious on fomites under research conditions for up to 28 days, whereas influenza only remains viable for 17 days. Published in the Virology Journal, results demonstrate that smooth surfaces, including cell phone screens, stainless steel, glass, and vinyl, are most conducive to SARS-CoV-2 as are lower temperatures.
