Most European Experts Cite Aerosol-Generating Procedures as High Risk

A survey of European experts in oral and maxillofacial surgery found that 80% noted aerosol-generating procedures in the dental setting as high risk in the transmission of the novel coronavirus. More than 80% asserted that face protection and caps were important to don regardless of whether the procedure was aerosol-generating or not. All of the experts, representing 27 European countries, recommended avoiding aerosol-generating procedures as much as possible, limiting the number of patients present in dental office waiting rooms, and ensuring patients follow hand hygiene procedures. Read more here.
