Is a COVID-19 Vaccine Really the Key to Ending the Pandemic?
The development of a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is top of mind these days, but Kaiser News reports that the vaccine is no panacea. First, it is unclear how effective a vaccine will be. For instance, the flu immunization is approximately 40% to 60% effective, and a COVID-19 vaccine may have similar results. In addition, it’s unknown when a vaccine will be available, and when one is released, high-risk populations will receive it first.
