Antibodies to COVID-19 May Last as Long as Five Months

Initially, research showed that antibodies to COVID-19 lasted only up to three months before steadily declining, but a new study published in Science finds that antibodies may last up to five months. This news provides individuals who have already recovered from COVID-19 insight into how safe they are from reinfection, as well as a glimpse into how effective a vaccine may be once it’s ready for distribution. The discovery was made by scientists at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York after evaluating the blood plasma of more than 30,000 patients who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 between March and April. Click here to read more.
