Dentistry Continues on the Road to Recovery
While the United States struggles to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, dentistry continues its recovery, according to a new poll by the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute. Taken during the week of June 15, the poll shows that 33.8% of dental practices are open with business as usual; 62.9% are open but with lower than typical patient volumes; 2% are open only for emergency treatment; and 1.3% are completely closed. Results of the poll of 5,000 dentists nationwide demonstrate that 97% of dental practices are open for elective treatment.
In comparison, only 0.1% of dental practices were seeing patients at typical levels the week of March 23. The week of June 1, 19.7% of practices were open with similar patient volumes pre-pandemic. Read more here.
