AstraZeneca and Moderna Are Neck and Neck in Race for Vaccine
The World Health Organization states that AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine is leading the pack, with Moderna’s version a close second. Developed at Britain’s Oxford University, the AstraZeneca vaccine is already undergoing human trials. The vaccine made by Moderna in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is currently in phase three clinical trials. The field is crowded with more than 200 possible vaccines; however, approximately 15 are considered the most viable. Experts hope that a safe and effective vaccine will debut by the end of the year.
