Kenneth L. Reed, DMD, is a dentist anesthesiologist and a diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is the associate program director in dental
anesthesiology at New York University Lutheran Medical Center in
Brooklyn. He is also an affiliate assistant professor in the Department of
Periodontology at the School of Dentistry, Oregon Health & Science
University in Portland, and a clinical instructor in the Department of
Dentistry at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Reed is president of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and maintains private practices limited to anesthesiology for dentistry in Arizona, California and Nevada.
Andrea M. Fonner, DDS, is a dentist anesthesiologist and a
diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and National
Dental Board of Anesthesiology. She serves as a basic life support
instructor for the American Heart Association, and is an associate faculty
member in the General Practice Residency at the Swedish Medical
Center in Seattle. Fonner is the codirector for the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Human Simulation Course, and provides advanced medical emergency training to dental teams across the country. She is also the president and delegate for the Washington State component of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Norman Tinanoff, DDS, MS, is a professor of pediatric
dentistry at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. His
recent textbook contributions include “The Oral Cavity” in Nelson
Textbook of Pediatrics, “Use of Fluorides” in Early Childhood Oral Health, and “Dental Caries” in Pediatric Dentistry: Infancy through Adolescence. In addition, Tinanoff has authored or coauthored more than 190 publications, primarily on fluoride mechanisms, antimicrobials, caries risk factors, and early childhood caries and prevention.
Vineet Dhar, BDS, MDS, PhD, is an associate professor and division chief/graduate program director in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. He has several publications to his credit and also serves as a reviewer to many peer-reviewed journals. Gwen Cohen Brown, DDS, FAAOMP, is a professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at City Tech and a fellow in the Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. She is also the dental expert for WebMD, an online publisher of healthrelated information. Brown serves as a faculty member at the New York and New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center.
Anna Matthews, RDH, MS, is a professor and chairperson of the Dental Hygiene Program at New York City College of Technology (City Tech). She has taught oral anatomy, pharmacology, principles of dental hygiene care-II seminar, and clinical dental hygiene, and has served as one of the clinic coordinators. Her research interests include emerging issues in dentistry and dental hygiene, microbiology of the oral and systemic diseases, novel pharmacotherapeutics and their effects on general and oral health, as well as interdisciplinary education, educational innovations, and technology in the classroom. Parth S. Desai, BDS, MPH, completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in India and a Master’s Degree in Public Health at Western Kentucky University.
Scott Froum, DDS, a graduate of the State University of New York, Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, is a periodontist in private practice at 1110 2nd Avenue, Suite 305, New York City, New York.
