William F. Wathen, DMD, is a former editor in chief of the Journal of the American Dental Association, and an adjunct professor in the Department of General Dentistry at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. He completed a U.S. Air Force dental internship in 1968 and entered private general practice in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1970. Retired from active practice, Wathen teaches a web-based course about the psychosocial aspects of dental practice called “Dental Crossroads — Secrets of Success in Practice.” The course is designed to help dental teams build, implement and maintain patient-centered, wellness-oriented practice philosophies. Robert H. Gregg II, DDS, is the founder of Millennium Dental Technologies, and a codeveloper of the FDA-cleared PerioLase MVP-7 and LANAP protocol. He is a former faculty member at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Dentistry, and has been using lasers clinically since 1990. Gregg lectures internationally on clinical laser applications, and is an author of the Curriculum Guidelines and Standards for Dental Laser Education. He also maintains an active private practice.
Eric D. Bothwell, DDS, MPH, MA, PhD, is a public health advisor for the Men’s Health Network, an educational organization that works to resolve issues affecting men’s health. He also teaches at the College of Public Health, University of Florida in Gainesville. Bothwell is a certified QPR gatekeeper instructor.
Marlene Storz, MSDH, RDH, is an assistant professor in the dental hygiene program at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Storz’s interest in suicide prevention led her to become certified as a gatekeeper instructor by the QPR Institute, which provides suicide prevention training programs to oral health professionals. Eric Linden, DMD, MSD, is a periodontist with more than 30 years of clinical experience, and a laser periodontal surgeon in private practice in New York. He is a professor of periodontics, implants, and oral medicine at Columbia University in New York. Linden directs several clinical trials assessing the effectiveness of laser treatment around failing implants. He serves on the American Academy of Periodontology Committee on Peri-Implantitis. Alan H. Gluskin, DDS, is a professor and cochairperson in the Department of Endodontics at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. Gluskin serves as secretary on the executive board of directors for the American Association of Endodontists. He also sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Endodontics and the International Journal of Endodontics. He is coeditor of the textbooks Decision Making in Dental Treatment Planning and Practical Lessons in Endodontic Treatment.
