Angela Dudley, RDH, MA, CHES, served as the patient care coordinator in advanced specialty education at the University Maryland School of Dentistry for more than 20 years. She also taught at Howard University, University of Maryland, and University of South Dakota. Now retired, Dudley has extensive experience in clinical dental hygiene as well as teaching. She became a certified health education specialist in 1995.
Allison Castro, MPH, RDH, is an assistant professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Farmingdale State College in New York. Her teaching responsibilities include health science research principles and methods; pain management laboratory; oral pathology; clinical dental hygiene I, II, III, IV; essentials of clinical practice I and II; and advanced dental hygiene practice II instruction. Castro has more than 10 years of clinical experience in general, periodontal, and prosthodontic practices. A member of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene’s Peer Review Panel and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, she also serves as editor of her local component, the Long Island Dental Hygienists’ Association.
