These clinical strategies will help in the prevention and management of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Explain the most recent diagnostic categories proposed to describe the state of dental implant health or disease.
  2. Discuss etiological factors and interventions associated with peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.
  3. Describe the role of the titanium oxide layer when attempting bony reattachment in patients diagnosed with peri-implantitis.
