Innovations in Endodontic Cleaning and Disinfection

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

1. List some of the inherent challenges clinicians face in endodontic cleaning and disinfection.
2. Describe various approaches to endodontic cleaning and disinfection that have been designed to address the problem of pulpal debridement and microbial disinfection.
3. Discuss the use of calcium hydroxide as an interim measure in endodontic therapy, and the resulting difficulty in removing the material using conventional techniques.
