A clear grasp of the biology of the periodontal/restorative interface will help support clinicians when performing crown lengthening procedures.

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Explain indications for crown lengthening and the clinical benefits of these procedures.
  2. Describe etiologies and conditions that may lead to recommendations for crown lengthening, as well as tooth proportions and similar determinants affecting treatment.
  3. Discuss treatment planning and other considerations related to crown lengthening surgery.
