The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced $175 billion in relief funds for healthcare providers and hospitals as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act. These monies, along with additional relief funding outside of the CARES Act, support healthcare-related expenses or lost revenue attributable to COVID-19.
In a related development, P&R Dental Strategies, a New Jersey-based dental analytics company, has been contracted by HHS to supply data to help identify U.S. dentists in support of the distribution of billions of stimulus dollars to dentists and other healthcare providers under the CARES Act’s Provider Relief Fund. The department will use the data from P&R to assist in the speedy and accurate distribution of stimulus dollars to dental providers who apply for relief under the fund, regardless of network affiliation or payer contract. The stimulus money is intended to help mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on dental practices.
