When more than 2000 dental professionals gathered at the iconic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York for the Nobel Biocare Global Symposium 2016, the focus was on the future: innovations in dentistry, as well as innovations in symposiums. Held in June, the four-day event was attended by professionals from 58 countries. And for the first time, the symposium featured speakers selected using crowdsourcing. Visitors to the event’s website voted for the topics they wanted to see featured. The winners were case studies on soft tissue management and immediate loading protocols, as well as a keynote lecture on digital dentistry.
The symposium featured presentations by more than 150 educators in implantology, and also saw the unveiling of new Nobel Biocare products, including the On1 restorative concept, NobelZygoma implant and NobelDesign computer-aided design software. The company extended the range of its creos regenerative solutions with the launch of creos xenogain xenogenic bone substitute, and marked the evolution of NobelProcera with the introduction of the NobelProcera crown — a high-translucency multilayered zirconia material.
