Lares Research Introduces Fluoresce HD: A Powerful New Aid In The Visualization of Decay and Old Composite
Chico, California: Lares Research has introduced Fluoresce™ HD, an innovative new handpiece technology that aids in the visualization of decay and old composites for faster, easier and better dentistry. By adding a second 405 nm (near UV) light output to highspeed handpieces (air turbines) and electric contra angles, Fluoresce HD turns the mouth into a color-coded map with decay, healthy tooth and composites all appearing different colors.
Due to the presence of porphyrins in live caries-causing bacteria, Fluoresce HD causes decay to appear bright red against a light green background of healthy tooth. Improved caries visualization may reduce the removal of healthy tooth (minimally invasive), increase your confidence in complete caries removal, and save chair time by reducing the need for probing, dyes, and imaging.
Most old composites appear bright white against a background of light green healthy tooth. Improved visualization of old composites may reduce removal of healthy tooth, increase your confidence in complete composite removal, and save chair time.
Fluoresce HD can be added to both air turbines (highspeed handpieces) and electric contra angles. The patented Fluoresce HD dual wavelength LED swivel coupler is Kavo MULTIflex* compatible and allows the dentist to switch between white or near UV light output with the push of a button. It does not require the purchase of new fiber optic handpieces. The patent pending Smoothdrive™ Dual Wavelength Electric Motor System also allows the dentist to switch between white and near UV light output by depressing a button on the smartphone touchscreen. The Smoothdrive motor is compatible with all leading brand and model fiber optic contra angles, and does not require the purchase of new contra angles.
