Henry A. Gremillion, DDS, MAGD, long-time dean of Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Dentistry (LSUSD), has died.

Henry A. Gremillion, DDS, MAGD, long-time dean of Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Dentistry (LSUSD), has died. Gremillion passed on May 18 after a brief illness, according to the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). He was 68.
Besides serving as dean, Gremillion was the immediate past chair of the ADEA board of directors. His many achievements include leading the school through expansions and renovations, and bringing to fruition its state-of-the-art preclinical labs. He was named LSUSD Alumnus of the Year, the school’s highest alumnus award, and was twice recognized as the University of Florida College of Dentistry’s Teacher of the Year. Gremillion was also the recipient of the Pierre Fauchard Academy’s Fauchard Gold Medal, which is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the progress and standing of the dental profession.
