Recipients of the 2024 William J. Gies Awards Are Announced
The American Dental Education Association (ADEA)Gies Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2024 William J. Gies Awards for Vision, Innovation, and Achievement in the field of oral health and dental education. These awards, named after dental education pioneer William J. Gies, PhD, recognize individuals, institutions, or public/private partners who have made exceptional contributions in the areas of innovation, achievement, vision, and leadership.
The 2024 Gies Awards recipients are:
- Alison F. Doubleday, PhD, MA, MS, a biological anthropologist and anatomy educator at University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, received the Gies Award for Innovation.
- Nader A. Nadershahi, DDS, MBA, EdD, dean of the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific, received the Gies Award for Vision and Leadership.
- Santa Fe Group, an action-oriented think tank with a passion to improve lives through oral health, received the Gies Award for Achievement.
A panel of industry experts, including the ADEAGies Foundation Board of Trustees, selected these honorees based on their outstanding contributions to the field of oral health and dental education. The Gies Awards will be presented during the ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition on March 11, 2024, in New Orleans. The ADEAGies Foundation is dedicated to promoting innovative initiatives in oral health that advance dental education and the dental professions.
