Free App Helps Those With Autism Improve Their Oral Health

Individuals with autism often face barriers to accessing dental care; a significant challenge is a lack of education for oral health professionals on how best to provide care to this population. With the goal of improving the oral health of individuals with autism and supporting the success of dental appointments, a new app called All Smiles Shine is available free of charge. Funded by the Delta Dental Foundation, the app features instruction for at-home oral hygiene, information on what to expect at a dental appointment, and tips for parents/caregivers on how to help their family member achieve and maintain good oral health.
