Moderna to Release Redesigned COVID Vaccine to Thwart New Variant
Moderna has revamped its COVID-19 vaccine to more effectively combat the highly contagious Omicron BA.5 variant. The new vaccine will be available this fall as a booster shot. The United States federal government has secured 66 million doses. A redesigned Pfizer vaccine will also be ready this fall. The US has ordered 105 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
