Colorado Bill Creates Assistance Fund for Dental Hygienists
Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed a bill creating a peer assistance program for dental hygienists into law on June 8. The bill, SB22-058, was passed with 39 ayes; 24 congress members voted no. The program is modeled after one already in place for dentists, and it requires all dental hygienists to pay a fee to the fund when they initially apply for licensure in the state. The fund provides assistance to dental hygienists who experience physical, emotional, or psychological issues that prevent them from working in the field. Click here to read more.
