Another Reason to Quit Vaping: More Severe COVID-19 Effects

Oral health professionals are well versed in tobacco cessation and play a key role in helping their patients quit all forms of nicotine. Well, here is another reason to advise patients against vaping: they experience more serious health effects from SARS-CoV-2 infection. In a study of COVID-19 positive subjects that compared individuals who vape to non-vapers/non-smokers, the e-cigarette users experienced higher incidence of chest pain, chills, body aches, headaches, smell and taste alterations, gastrointestinal problems, and dizziness than the subjects who abstained from tobacco use.
