CDC Says Omicron Variant Appears Mild Compared to Delta
According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 40 Americans—75% of whom are fully vaccinated against COVID-19— have been diagnosed with the new Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2. While this doesn’t seem like anything to celebrate, the good news is that most of these cases resulted in only mild symptoms. The most frequently reported symptoms among those with the Omicron variant include cough, mild congestion, and malaise. No deaths have resulted and only one person was hospitalized.
