State of Maine Exempts Oral Health Professionals From Its COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

The final COVID-19 vaccine mandate issued by Maine’s Governor Janet Mills does not include dental healthcare providers due to evidence demonstrating that the state’s dental offices were not hot spots for the transmission of COVID-19. Other healthcare workers—including providers at hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted-living centers, and outpatient surgery facilities—must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or lose their positions.
