The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine welcomed the first cohort of 24 students to its new Destination Dental School program, a free, eight-week program open to underrepresented undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students nationwide.
The new initiative aims to remove barriers to careers in dentistry for underrepresented students, according to the school. Destination Dental School will provide students with an understanding of the day-to-day life of a dentist and dental student, help strengthen participants’ dental school applications, and develop their skills as researchers.
