California Dental Professionals Must Be Fully Vaccinated or Undergo Weekly COVID-19 Testing

The state of California will require all healthcare providers—including oral health professionals and dental office staff—to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing beginning August 9. It will be the responsibility of California dentist employers to demonstrate that all team members are vaccinated. Those who have not been vaccinated or decline to declare their status will be tested weekly to ensure there is no risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission. All dental team members, including office staff, must be at least masked while in the dental office, regardless of vaccination status.
