HHS Broadens Who Is Able to Administer COVID-19 Vaccines
According to the Federal Register, the United States Department of Health and Human Services has adjusted which professions are allowed to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to encompass additional healthcare providers, such as dentists, dental students, midwives, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, podiatrists, optometrists, and veterinarians. Dental hygienists were not mentioned in the new declaration. The amendment was made to the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act for Medical Countermeasures Against COVID–19.
