Good News: US Sees Drops in COVID-19 Cases and Hospitalizations
During the week of February 1, the United States experienced a 25% decrease in new COVID-19 cases and a 15% reduction in the number of patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 illness. These significant drops follow 4 weeks of declines in new case numbers. California experienced the largest decrease in new COVID-19 cases—48%—while only Oregon, Puerto Rico, Arkansas, and Vermont saw increases in case numbers.
