Will Travel in the New Year Require a Vaccine Passport?
With people across the globe hoping to get back to some sort of normal life after 9 months of COVID-19 restrictions and the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines, technology companies are developing digital vaccine passports. Such passports could be used to demonstrate COVID-19 infection status and proof of vaccination before boarding airplanes, attending concerts and sporting events, or seeing a movie at the local Cineplex. Currently, the CommonPass app enables users to upload health records and vaccination status that are then utilized to create a QR code that can be scanned at airport check-in before boarding a flight.
