FDA Redoubles Efforts to Encourage Development of New Tests for COVID-19
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continues to encourage the development of new tests for SARS-CoV-2 in the fight to contain COVID-19. Thus far, the FDA has issued emergency use authorizations for 221 tests of which 179 are molecular, 39 are antibody, and three are antigen tests. The organization has also created a new website to showcase all resources for COVID-19 testing and testing of pooled samples.
