The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is reporting a total of 44,183 cases in the United States with 544 confirmed deaths.

The highest number of cases remains in New York (21,689) with California, Washington State, Louisiana, Illinois, Michigan, Florida and New Jersey following in the next category of 1001 to 5000 cases. The CDC’s Division of Oral Health is currently creating new guidelines for dental practices to use during the COVID-19. While most dental offices are closed for elective procedures, the CDC advises dentists to follow the Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Patients with Confirmed COVID-19 or Persons Under Investigation for COVID-19 in Healthcare Settings when considering providing emergency or urgent treatment.
