Citing ergonomics as an example, this article examines the steps involved in evidence-based decision-making.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Define evidence-based dentistry as it applies to ergonomics.
  2. Describe the steps used in the practice of evidence-based dentistry.
  3. Determine if an article provides the best evidence through consideration of its research design.
  4. Evaluate the value of an article through the application of key statistical results.
