Mary R. Truhlar, DDS, MS, is a professor and dean of the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York. She is a past chair of the Department of General Dentistry and director of the Division of Geriatric Dentistry at Stony Brook. Truhlar is the 2012 American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Alpha Omega Foundation Scholar and a fellow in the ADEA Leadership Institute. In addition, she oversees an Indian Health Services Grant and participates in a student service learning experience at Pine Ridge Hospital in South Dakota.
