Marc Shlossman, DDS, MS, is the associate director of clinical research at ASDOH and a member of the periodontics faculty. He has been involved in clinical research related to manifestations of periodontal disease in patients with diabetes, laser-assisted nonsurgical periodontal therapy, and treatment of peri-implantitis.
Armita Hezarkhani, DMD, MPH, is a 2020 graduate of ASDOH. Her research into e-cigarettes and vaping stemmed from her clinical experiences at dental school and interests in public health. She is continuing her postdoctoral studies in periodontics at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Giovanni Mauro, MD, DDS, is a visiting professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma in Italy. A journal author, he recently published a book on facial esthetics. He has been using acupuncture in his practice for more than 20 years, and has presented acupuncture courses for dentists in Italy.
