Nyree Dawson, RDH, BSDH, MPH, is an assistant professor in the Department of Dental Hygiene at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, where she also serves as junior clinic coordinator. She teaches dental hygiene theory didactic courses, ethics and jurisprudence, and clinical courses.
Dawn R. Smith, PhD, RDH, is a professor, director of the Division of Dental Hygiene, and a faculty member in the Department of Comprehensive Care at Howard University, College of Dentistry, in Washington, DC. She actively contributes to national dental education standards through her service on the Commission on Dental Accreditation Dental Hygiene Objective Structured Clinical Examinations Committee, the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations Fairness and Sensitivity Committee, and the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination Test Constructor Committee. Smith serves as principal investigator for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program and is a frequent HRSA grant reviewer. Her interdisciplinary expertise bridges clinical practice and social science as both a dental hygienist and medical sociologist.
Brittany Harris Campbell, RDH, MSDH, is an assistant professor in the Division of Periodontics at Howard University, College of Dentistry, in Washington, DC, where she teaches periodontics and supervises clinical care. Her scholarly work includes publications on the management of patients with psoriasis, and she is actively engaged in professional service through roles with the District of Columbia Board of Dentistry and the American Board of Dental Examiners. Passionate about oral health equity, interprofessional collaboration, and student success, Harris Campbell continues to contribute to the dental community through teaching, research, and advocacy. Gabby Hutchinson, BA, is a project empower advocate for Virginia Commonwealth University Trauma Center’s Injury and Violence Prevention Program in Richmond. She has several years of experience working in domestic violence centers and for the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance. Hutchinson’s passion for transformative justice informs her work with survivors of intimate partner and gender-based violence.
LaTesha McLee, MSDH, RDH, is an associate professor in the Dental Hygiene Program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, where she serves as the junior year clinical coordinator.
