Survey Explores Patients’ Perception of the Ideal Dentist

When asked to describe their ideal dentist, respondents to a survey by the online market research firm DentaVox said a caring personality and more than six to 10 years of practice were key characteristics.

When asked to describe their ideal dentist, respondents to a survey by the online market research firm DentaVox said a caring personality and more than six to 10 years of practice were key characteristics. The survey, which explored patient preferences across categories such as gender, age, experience and personality type, revealed 64% of patients prefer a female dentist, while 86% favor middle-aged dental specialists. Chairside manner was also an important attribute, as 56% of respondents said they prefer a caring, supportive oral health professional.
