Straumann has donated milling machines, scanners and software to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD) to assist in establishing a digital dentistry program. The gift and partnership will help facilitate the college’s effort to increase the use of the latest digital dentistry technologies at the school.
“The digital initiative entails a comprehensive model that provides education for students, residents, faculty and the dental community in new digital health devices and technologies, and explains the value to patients and the health care system,” says Marcus Abboud, DDS, associate dean of digital dentistry at UKCD. The initiative covers all aspects of dentistry, from diagnosis to computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing.”
