Schools Team Up to Strengthen Community Care
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York has forged a partnership with the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan to advance oral health through community-based research, education and care.
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (CDM) in New York has forged a partnership with the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in San Juan to advance oral health through community- based research, education and care. Christian S. Stohler, DMD, DrMedDent, dean of Columbia CDM, and Ana N. López Fuentes, DMD, MPH, dean of UPR School of Dental Medicine, signed a memorandum of understanding that identifies shared interests, such as community needs assessment, oral health literacy, biomedical services and management technology. The schools will develop joint projects designed to strengthen practitioners’ attention to community needs in Puerto Rico and the United States.
