1015-newsline-5Allowing plenty of time for staff training before the 2016 CDT codes go into effect at the first of the year, the American Dental Association (ADA.org) has released its CDT 2016: Dental Procedure Codes. A handy resource for dentists and their staffs who work with thirdparty payers that require the use of CDT codes, the publication includes the Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature, which, according to ADA, is the only HIPAA-recognized code set for dentistry. Other highlights include information about 19 new, 12 revised and eight deleted codes.

Also available is the CDT 2016 Companion: Help Guide and Training Manual, which provides coding scenarios to help decode the most common coding questions, while a smartphone app, available for both iOS and Android, permits clinicians to access CDT codes from the palms of their hands. Rounding out the offerings are an e-book and product bundles.
