There should be clear instruction on required procedures, such as temperature taking, mask wearing, and waiting room etiquette. Providing early notice allows patients to cancel or reschedule if they are not comfortable complying with safety guidelines, the CDA notes.
Recommended practices include developing a plan for managing uncooperative patients, which might include alternative accommodations for those who refuse to follow safety policies. These strategies may include utilizing telehealth technologies, or rescheduling the appointment when they are willing to comply.
