The manufacturer of Brush Buddies, Evo, and ARU toothpastes voluntarily recalled more than 4 million tubes of dentifrice across the United States on September 10. On October 19, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) categorized the recall as “Class II,” which means use of the product may cause temporary or short-lived negative health effects but not serious, longstanding health consequences.

The FDA noted the recall was in response to the lack of adherence to current good manufacturing practice requirements which necessitate appropriate controls for the manufacturing, processing, and packaging of a product.
