When an 18-year-old man had four teeth extracted, he anticipated taking them home, but the Benson, Arizona dental practice refused due to health protocols. The dentist cited concerns about bloodborne diseases and adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, which consider extracted teeth potentially infectious materials.
