
The Popularity of Tooth Gems Rises Once Again
As the saying goes, all that is old is new again. While the tooth gem phenomenon was popular back in the early 2000s, it has now resurfaced and is gaining traction among young people. Tooth gems are small jewels that are bonded to the tooth surface. The intent is purely esthetic, and for some patients, the more bling, the better. Patients can choose from temporary tooth gems that are applied via etching gel, or a more permanent delivery that requires drilling into the tooth surface.
