Adaira L. Howell, RDH, BSDH, MS, is a lecturer and the community outreach coordinator at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at ODU. With experience as an educator, researcher, and clinical dental hygienist, she is also a published author. Howell’s research focuses on increasing access to dental care for underserved populations. She has a true passion for serving others and strives to create a community that focuses improving health equity for all.
Denise M. McKinney, PhD, RDH, is an associate professor and graduate program director at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia. Roopali Kulkarni, DMD, MPH, is a board-certified oral medicine specialist, an assistant professor of oral medicine, and the assistant director of the postgraduate oral medicine program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. She currently teaches predoctoral and postdoctoral students clinically and didactically. Kulkarni’s scholarly work focuses on both oral medicine and public health, with a special interest in oral potentially malignant disorders, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, obstructive sleep apnea, and health policy. She is an active researcher in the World Workshop on Oral Medicine and a senior fellow in the University of Pennsylvania Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Kulkarni serves as an attending at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and treats patients within the university health system. James Chae, DDS, MS, maintains a private practice in Diamond Bar, California, and is a clinical instructor at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Jedediah Huss, DDS, DICOI, is the founder and clinical director of Restored Smiles, a continuing dental education company that strives to teach clinical excellence within implant dentistry and to turn knowledge into action in the everyday dental practice. A Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, he currently practices in both Los Angeles and Ventura counties with a focus on cosmetic and implant dentistry while offering intravenous sedation.
