Atlanta Dental Supply Celebrates Life of David P. Blackshear
David Blackshear, former president and chairman of the board for Atlanta Dental Supply, has died.
David Blackshear, former president and chairman of the board for Atlanta Dental Supply, has died. He was 96 years old. He spent 72 years with Atlanta Dental, serving as president and chairman of the board, and was active on the board of directors as chairman emeritus for the past nine years, according to the family.
Blackshire was a leader in the dental community and dental supply distribution in the Southeast, and was known nationally by manufacturers and other distributors. The beloved leader and mentor received numerous honors for his leadership, and served as chairman of the board of ADC, the Dental Distributor Hall of Fame, and president of the American Dental Trade Association. He was also active with the Atlanta Rotary Club, and as a band leader of the Atlanta Seventeen, which played big band music. He served as a navigator on a B-24 bomber in the Pacific Theater of WWll.
