A recent survey by DentalPlans.com, an online marketplace for dental savings plans, reveals nearly 90% of respondents will go to the dentists despite the COVID-19 pandemic, as long as safety precautions are in place.
Survey respondents said frequent sanitation/disinfecting throughout a dental practice, knowing exactly what the office is doing to keep patients safe in advance, and requiring dental staff and patients to wear masks would significantly increase their confidence in getting preventive care right now, according to DentalPlans.com. Five percent of survey respondents said they plan to wait until a vaccine for the virus is available.
Patients also indicated wanting dentists to share information about their COVID-19 infection control processes prior to their appointment (73%), while 72% said they’d only go to a dentist they’ve seen before.
